Terms of Use

Version 2026-10-01 · Effective 1 October 2026

Draft for legal review. Highlighted items like [this] must be filled in before these terms are relied on.

In short

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You talk to strangers. Be respectful, keep your personal details to yourself, and report anyone who breaks the rules.
  • No sexual content, harassment, hate, threats, scams, or anything involving minors. Breaking the rules gets accounts suspended or banned.
  • The service is free and provided as it is, without guarantees.

1. Agreeing to these terms

iFreeTalk (ifreetalk.in) is operated by Sana, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("we", "us"). By ticking the boxes on the first screen and using iFreeTalk, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice and the Community Guidelines shown in the app. If you do not agree, do not use it.

2. Who can use it

  • You must be 18 years old or older. If you are not, you may not use iFreeTalk.
  • You must be able to make a binding agreement under Indian law.
  • You may not use it if we have banned you, or to get round a suspension.

3. What iFreeTalk is

iFreeTalk connects you, without names or phone numbers, with another adult for a voice call in the language you choose. During a call you can chat, share photos and GIFs that disappear after 1 minute, play games, and add each other as friends. You can call friends, and people from a call that ended in the last 10 minutes, directly.

The people you meet are strangers. We do not check who they are, and we do not monitor calls or chats, which are never recorded.

4. Rules for using it

You must not:

  • share sexual content or make sexual advances towards someone who has not welcomed them;
  • involve anyone under 18 in any way, or share any content that sexualises a child;
  • harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone;
  • use hate speech or attack anyone for their religion, caste, gender, sexuality, region, language, disability or background;
  • promote violence, self-harm, terrorism or illegal activity;
  • spam, advertise, scam, phish, or ask for money or payment details;
  • share another person's private information, or pretend to be someone else;
  • record calls or share screenshots of anyone without their permission;
  • use bots, scripts or automated tools, or interfere with the service, its servers or other people's use of it;
  • copy, take apart or reverse-engineer the app, except as the law allows;
  • break any law of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

5. Staying safe

  • Never share your phone number, address, UPI ID, social media accounts, or anything that could identify you.
  • Never send money to someone you met here.
  • Be careful about meeting anyone in person. You do so at your own risk.
  • End the call and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
  • iFreeTalk is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112.

6. Reports and enforcement

You can report the other person during a call, or for 10 minutes after it ends. Reporting ends the call, and the two of you are not matched again. You may attach photos they sent you, which only our moderators will see.

If 3 different people report the same account within 60 minutes, it is suspended automatically: for 24 hours the first time, 7 days the second time, and permanently after that. Moderators may also warn, suspend or ban an account, or lift a suspension, after reviewing reports. We may remove access at any time if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken. To appeal, contact us (section 15).

7. Calling friends directly

A direct call rings only while the other person has the app open, for up to 30 seconds. If someone declines your direct calls twice, you can no longer call them directly. They can still call you, and you can still meet through random matching unless one of you has blocked or reported the other.

You can also make a room code and send it to someone. When they enter it, you are asked to accept before the call starts. A code works once and lasts 10 minutes. Anyone who has or guesses your code can ask to join, so only accept people you know.

8. What you share

What you say, write and share in iFreeTalk remains yours, and you are responsible for it. You allow us only to carry it to the other person while you are talking, and, if you or they report the call, to keep the report as described in the Privacy Notice.

Anything you share can be seen, heard, saved or screenshotted by the other person, even if it disappears from the app.

9. Our rights in the app

The iFreeTalk name, logo, design and software belong to us. All rights reserved. These Terms give you permission to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use, and nothing more.

10. No guarantees

iFreeTalk is free and provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always work, find you a match, connect every call, or be free of errors. We are not responsible for what other users say or do.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by other users, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to [amount, e.g. ₹1,000]. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using iFreeTalk at any time and ask us to delete your account, as the Privacy Notice explains. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service.

13. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [city] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, after you have first tried to resolve it with us by writing to [email protected].

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. When the change matters, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue. The version and date are at the top of this page.

15. Contact and grievances
